What is CPD?

CPD is an acronym for Continuing Professional Development.

According to the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa), health practitioners are required to continuously develop their professional and academic knowledge through ongoing educational programs and courses. These programs and courses are designed to ensure that Doctors remain up to date with advances and developments in their industry and continue to foster a spirit of learning throughout their professional career.

In the event that a Medical Practitioner does not fulfill their minimum quota of continuous professional development, they risk losing their license as a Medical Practitioner.
